Delgado Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success Inducts Inaugural Class

December 12, 2017

The Delgado Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success inducted its inaugural class on Dec. 11.

The National Society of Leadership and Success is the nation's largest leadership honor society.  Membership for the NSLS is by invitation only and is based on a set of criteria established by chapter leaders. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction.

With 586 chapters, the Society currently has 804,586 members nationwide. Members of the NSLS are given access to world-renowned speakers, communication development activities and a supportive network of peers.

The Delgado Chapter currently has 240 members. On Dec. 11, 68 members were inducted into full membership.

Once the registration fee is paid, students are considered members (also known as pre-inducted members) with access to certain benefits. In order to become an inducted member, they must complete the following steps:

  1. Attend Orientation
  2. Attend Leadership Training Day: a 3-hour interactive video training session with a workbook designed to help members identify and overcome any obstacles that may interfere with obtaining their goals. This introspective seminar helps members to recognize their strengths and weaknesses, in order to shift their focus toward their real passions.
  3. Attend three speaker broadcast events: watch some of the world's most successful motivational speakers discussing topics related to leadership, identifying goals, facing challenges, personal growth, and successfully transitioning from college to career. Fall 2017 speakers were: Genevieve Theirs, Sir Richard Branson, Wendy Williams and Simon Sinek
  4. Attend three Success Networking Team meetings: bring together groups of students that work together and provide peer coaching on achieving goals. They discuss goals, desires and expectations, set timelines and hold each other accountable. The Success Networking Team provides members with a support network of like-minded goal-oriented students on campus.
