Delgado Hosts Legislative Team for Roundtable and Campus Tour

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Members of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), along with staff members from the Louisiana Senate’s Fiscal Division, visited Delgado for a roundtable discussion on capital projects and a campus tour.

The roundtable discussion centered on recent capital projects, including the Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health (completed),  the Gayle and Tom Benson Athletic Complex (completed), and the Culinary Workforce Building (under construction), and plans for future facilities.

During the tour, the group observed a nursing simulation in the campus’s teaching hospital, enjoyed a Culinary Arts tasting event featuring cuisine from Delgado’s Culinary Arts students, visited the Benson Athletic Complex, and experienced a traditional academic day at Delgado’s vibrant City Park campus.

The welcomed visitors from the Senate Fiscal Division were Mei Su, Lindsay Schexnayder, and Mary Kathryn Drago. The welcomed visitors from LCTCS were Joe Marin, Joel Watkins, and Melissa Maranto.

Delgado Chancellor Larissa Littleton-Steib, PhD led the visit and tour along with Timothy R. Stamm, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Ronald Russo, Vice Chancellor Vice Chancellor for Business and Administrative Affairs, and Barbara Waiters, Chief Communications, Advancement and Strategic Initiatives Officer.
