Delgado Receives $10K Grant from Massage Envy to Enhance the Massage Therapy Program

Delgado Community College is the honored recipient of a $10,000 Massage Schools Grant awarded by Massage Envy and The Sunray Companies in partnership with the American Massage Therapy Association.

The funding will allow Delgado to enhance digital learning tools and clinic management software in the Massage Therapy Program while preparing students with career readiness skills and resources. Specific enhancements will allow the program to streamline instructional time and clinic appointments through digital transformation of scheduling and documentation systems.

“Massage Envy and The Sunray Companies are proud to celebrate this $10,000 grant presentation to Delgado Community College’s Massage Therapy Program. In collaboration with the American Massage Therapy Association, this investment will strengthen training, attract new students, and support the growing demand for licensed massage therapists in our community,” said Chris Taylor, Directo of Operations for Massage Envy and The Sunray Companies.

This opportunity allows us to strengthen instructional tools and technology to align with industry standards, while ensuring students can operate and compete at high levels upon program completion,” said Delgado Chancellor Larissa Littleton Steib.  

Founded in 2002, Delgado’s Massage Therapy program has a 98% pass rate on the national Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx). Program graduates are among the top practitioners at spas throughout the New Orleans region.

Enrolled Massage Therapy students operate an on-campus massage clinic, which is open and available to the public. The clinic operates on an appointment basis Monday – Friday and is located at Delgado’s Westbank Campus, 615 City Park Ave. New Orleans, La., inside the Ochsner Building of Nursing & Allied Health, 4th Floor. Appointments area available from Tues., Thurs., and Fri. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wed. from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more about schedule an appointment.
