Delgado’s Spring 2025 Pharmacy Technician Graduates Celebrate 100% Certification Exam Pass Rate and Pinning Ceremony

May 15, 2025

Delgado Community College proudly announces that all 11 Spring 2025 graduates of its Pharmacy Technician Program achieved a 100% pass rate on the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), earning their Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential. This credential, administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), is required by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy and recognized nationwide.

Students completed the PTCE on May 9 at Delgado’s Sidney Collier Site, taking the exam at the Pearson Vue Authorized Test Center under the supervision of Aaron Turner.

“Our students’ perfect pass rate is a testament to their hard work. Delgado’s Pharmacy Technician Program provides our students with the tools to succeed,” said Anne LaVance, program director.

The program culminated in a pinning ceremony on May 13, 2025, held at Delgado’s City Park Campus in the Timothy K. Baker Theatre. The ceremony honored the graduates' accomplishments and their transition into the healthcare workforce.

Delgado offers two levels of pharmacy technician training:

  • The Entry-Level Certificate of Technical Competency (C.T.C.), which prepares students for immediate employment in various pharmacy settings including hospitals, retail, and long-term care.

  • The Advanced-Level Certificate of Technical Studies (C.T.S.), which builds upon the entry-level program and prepares students for expanded roles such as sterile compounding and medication therapy support.

Both programs combine academic coursework with hands-on clinical experience and are accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists/Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ASHP/ACPE).

With this strong foundation, Delgado graduates are well-prepared to serve their communities as skilled pharmacy technicians under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
