Delgado Celebrates Rick Schwab’s CityBusiness 2026 Power 25 Recognition

This prestigious recognition highlights Rick's outstanding leadership and reflects Delgado’s continued commitment to student success, workforce readiness, and excellence in maritime education. Under his direction, the Maritime and Industrial Training Center delivers high-quality, industry-aligned training that connects learners to opportunity while supporting the workforce needs of Louisiana’s maritime economy and beyond.

Since 1978, Delgado’s Maritime and Industrial Training Center has provided U.S. Coast Guard–approved courses and cutting-edge, hands-on instruction in areas such as firefighting, marine safety, and navigational training using full-mission bridge simulators. The Center partners with local, state, national, and international employers to deliver programs that strengthen safety, performance, and career mobility across the maritime sector.

Delgado proudly serves an eight-parish region and more than 25,000 students annually in high-demand fields including maritime, advanced manufacturing, allied health, and cybersecurity. Through strong partnerships with more than 200 employers and industry organizations, Delgado supports more than 10,000 local jobs and contributes over $588 million annually to Louisiana’s economy.

We are especially proud that Delgado’s Maritime and Industrial Training Center received a 2024 federal redesignation as a Center of Excellence for Domestic Maritime Workforce Training and Education (CoE) designee by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration.
