Schwab is Facilitator at Conference on Maritime Transportation and Logistics

Rick A. Schwab, senior director, Delgado Community College Maritime and Industrial Training Center, is a facilitator at the National Maritime Workforce Conference, which opened June 5 at the San Jacinto College Maritime Campus in LaPorte, TX.

Schwab is sharing his expertise in maritime transportation and logistics. On the panel with him at the conference are Dr. Joan Mileski, department head, Maritime Administration, Texas A&M University Galveston, TX; Karen Cook, dean, School of Business and Law, Anne Arundel Community College, MD; and Dan Harmon, Maritime Division Director, Texas Department of Transportation.

The "Shared Quarters" National Maritime Workforce Conference taking place in LaPorte and Galveston, TX, June 5-6, 2018, addresses opportunities to enhance maritime, marine technology and port management workforce training taking place at two-year public colleges throughout the country in collaboration with universities, port authorities, shippers and other maritime industry partners.

The Maritime and Industrial Training Center at Delgado Community College in New Orleans has earned a national and international reputation for providing high-quality maritime and industrial firefighting, radar, safety and U.S. Coast Guard-approved training including full mission bridge simulator courses.

For over two decades, Delgado’s experienced instructors have helped provide training to licensed mariners and industry personnel in the maritime, oil and gas, and safety/homeland security fields, among others. Courses are tailored to meet the specific needs of industrial clients.
