Chief Strategy Officer Communications, Advancement and Strategic Initiatives

Barbara A. Waiters serves as Chief Communications, Advancement, and Strategic Initiatives Officer at Delgado Community College, where she leads the Office of Strategic Initiatives and advances the college's mission through strategic communications, institutional advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, community partnerships, and external relations. Working closely with the Chancellor and Executive Council, she cultivates strategic relationships with business, industry, government, philanthropic, and community stakeholders to strengthen Delgado's impact throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South region.

A respected community leader with more than two decades of experience in community engagement, economic development, workforce development, public policy, and organizational leadership, Barbara has built a distinguished career connecting resources, partnerships, and opportunities that create meaningful outcomes for individuals, businesses, and communities. Throughout her career, she has managed and secured millions of dollars in grants, contracts, and philanthropic investments that have supported workforce training, economic development initiatives, community revitalization efforts, disaster recovery programs, and educational advancement.
