Jennifer Fernandez, MSN, RN, CPN |
With a passion for shaping the future of healthcare, Jennifer Fernandez brings over a decade of experience in nursing education and clinical practice to her role as Dean of the Charity School of Nursing. A dedicated advocate for nursing excellence, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey University in Gulfport, MS, with a focus on pediatric care, and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Nursing Education and Administration at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. Throughout her career, Jennifer has been committed to fostering a learning environment that empowers students to achieve their fullest potential. Her extensive experience at Delgado Community College’s Charity School of Nursing has allowed her to shape nursing programs that equip future nurses with the skills and compassion needed to make a difference in the world. Her expertise in program development, implementation, and evaluation has been integral in creating pathways for student success in a constantly evolving healthcare landscape. Jennifer is also an active leader in the nursing community, having presented at state, regional, and national conferences. She has served in various clinical roles, including pediatric staff nurse, charge nurse, and clinical educator, all while advocating for the advancement of nursing practice. As a former president of the Society of Pediatric Nurses Louisiana Chapter and an Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) Peer Evaluator, Jennifer remains dedicated to the growth and improvement of nursing education nationwide. Jennifer’s dedication to her students, her community, and the nursing profession drives her each day. Residing in New Orleans East with her husband, Alvin Fernandez III, she continues to inspire those around her with her commitment to excellence and her belief in the power of education to transform lives. |
