Dr. Stacy Welcome serves as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. She is an accomplished higher education leader with more than 25 years of progressive experience in student services and higher education administration. Throughout her career, she has held key leadership positions ranging from counseling and advising manager to associate dean and dean, while also serving as an adjunct professor. Dr. Welcome holds a Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University, a M.A. in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Texas Southern University. She is also a graduate of the League for Innovation's Executive Leadership Institute. Recognized for her student-centered leadership approach, Dr. Welcome has spearheaded transformative initiatives that have significantly expanded student support services, including the establishment of a Transfer Center, Food Market, Wellness Center, Child Development Center with drop-in childcare, Student Resolution Center, and the Six Dimensions of Wellness framework. Her collaborative approach to institutional improvement has earned recognition, including the Innovation of the Year Award, and she has presented nationally on topics including strategic student services, advising case management, workforce advancement, and transfer support. Dr. Welcome's leadership philosophy is grounded in inclusive excellence, holistic student support, and data-driven decision-making. In her role as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, she is committed to strengthening student engagement, expanding access to essential services, and fostering environments where all students can thrive academically, personally, and professionally. |
