Delgado Community College Hosts International Educators

June 04, 2025

On May 13, Delgado Community College hosted a delegation of international English language instructors working in law enforcement, military, and security sectors. The group observed two Adult Education English Language Learner classes, explored the Library, and met with Dean Emily Cosper to learn more about Delgado’s programs and student resources.

The visit was coordinated through Global New Orleans, which connected the group, representing over ten countries, with observation and collaboration opportunities at Delgado’s City Park Campus.

Global New Orleans, a nonprofit organization founded in 1944, is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural understanding and international collaboration through citizen diplomacy. It has connected New Orleans residents with global leaders and visitors via leadership programs, professional exchanges, and cultural events. By facilitating these exchanges, Global New Orleans strengthens the city's global connections and promotes economic and cultural growth.

One Global New Orleans representative praised the experience the group members had at Delgado. “They spent last week in San Diego, meeting with lots of incredible professional resources, but were really interested in seeing a class in action. It did not disappoint! Several said that it was the highlight of their trip,” the representative shared.

Delgado Community College’s Adult Education program offers classes in language, digital, and financial literacy, as well as instruction leading toward a high school equivalency diploma and select career certifications—all at no cost to eligible students.
