Local Educators Welcomed to Delgado River City Site

November 01, 2018

On Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, Delgado Community College welcomed local school principals and counselors to the new Delgado River City Site and Advanced Manufacturing Center in Avondale to discuss educational and career possibilities and opportunities for high school students.

Faculty and staff from the Science and Math Division, Technical Division, Workforce Development, and Institutional Advancement talked with the visitors at a breakfast meeting and escorted them on tours of the state-of-the-art facilities at the newest Delgado location.

Chancellor William Wainwright and Vice Chancellor Arlanda Williams greeted the educators and provided a strategic overview of Delgado’s involvement with Jump Start, Dual Enrollment, and a variety of initiatives that provide opportunities for young people to grow into professional careers.

About three dozen visiting educators attended the event, many of them long-time associates of Delgado and others brand-new to possibilities for collaboration.
