Cox Communications and Delgado Community College Partner for the 6th annual Small Business Leadership Academy

The Small Business Leadership Academy (SBLA) program provides continuing education and leadership development to entrepreneurs and small business leaders in Louisiana.

This nine-week program is designed to teach small business leaders how to scale their businesses and operate responsibly, with a focus on current Cox suppliers. The program includes the following business topics:group of business people in a meeting

  • Business Communication 101
  • Developing a High-Performance Team
  • Entrepreneurial & Small Business Concepts
  • Marketing and Sales 
  • Business Financials 
  • Value of a Viable Product/Service        
  • Supply Chain, Production & Distribution  
  • Introduction to AI for entrepreneurs
  • Strategic Partnerships, Contract Negotiations & Joint Ventures 
  • How to Register with State and Federal Government or Large Business to Become a Vendor or to Answer a Request for Proposal
  • Human Resources, Project Management & Procurement
  • Social Media Marketing & Management

Delgado faculty-led program modules will be delivered in-person at the College’s City Park campus in New Orleans, LA. The program is open to all Cox suppliers and to non-suppliers, but requests from suppliers will be prioritized. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants. Participants who complete the program will earn continuing education units.

The nomination enrollment deadline is Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Orientation and in person classes occur every Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 pm - 8 pm  and begin on August 25, 2025.
