Checklist iconStep One - Determine How to Pay for Classes.

When entering Delgado, you must decide how you plan to finance your education. There are many sources of financial aid available, and Delgado also allows students to enroll in a payment plan.

Don't delay taking this first step because options become more limited as you approach the beginning of the semester.

Using Financial Aid

There are many types of financial aid available such as grants, loans, scholarships, veteran's benefits, etc. Below gives instructions on how to obtain and use financial aid.

Pell Grants and Loans

Select 2019-2020 FAFSA for the Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Summer 2020 Semesters.

Delgado provides FAFSA assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Building 10, Room 134 at the City Park Campus.

You will need these documents when receiving assistance or submitting your FAFSA:

  • Driver's license or state ID
  • Social Security number and date of birth for student and parent (if student is under 24)
  • 2017 tax return for student and parent (if student is under 24) for 2019-2020 FAFSA

For summer sessions only: Submit a request for Summer Financial Aid.

Review and accept or decline your award letter in LoLA. You must be fully admitted to Delgado and enrolled in an applicable program of study before your financial aid can be applied to your account. Contact Financial Aid at or 1-855-215-8247.

Internal scholarships are awarded by the College each school year, and a list of external scholarships is maintained by the Office of Financial Aid.

Contracts and Waivers

Eligible students may receive a waiver of base tuition and applicable fees if they qualify for an approved Legislative, Board Mandated or Institutional Waiver or Exemption.

A third-party organization may sponsor a student's enrollment by committing to paying a student's mandatory tuition and registration fees. Most organizations will grant the sponsorships through an application process.
