Securing Your Classes

Follow the steps below to find out whether your classes are secured.

Step 1: If Financial Aid has been applied, you paid in full, or you have a waiver, please check your status:

  • Log in to LoLA (Delgado’s online student portal).
  • Select Delgado Community College.
  • Select Student.
  • Select Student Account.
  • Select Account Detail for Term.
  • Scroll down to view Account Balance Net of Authorized Financial Aid.
    • If your Financial Aid has been applied, you should see the credit balance (negative balance). Please note that other screens may show that you owe money. If you have a negative balance on Account Detail for Term, your classes are secure.
    • If you paid in full, you should see a $0.00 balance for your semester balance (summer or fall, depending on the semester you are trying to secure) and all previous semester balances.
    • If you have a waiver, you should see the waiver applied to your account.

If you are expecting Financial Aid to pay for school, and you don't see a credit balance (negative balance), please move to Step 2.

Step 2: If you used First-Time Freshmen Deferment or entered into the Payment Plan, please check your status:

  • Log in to LoLA (Delgado’s online student portal).
  • Select Delgado Community College.
  • Select Student.
  • Select Student Records.
  • Select View Holds.
  • If your classes are held by purge protection, you will see one of the following hold types displayed:
    • Payment Plan
    • Enrollment Svs Purge Protection (First-time freshmen deferments are not available for the summer semester).
    • Bursar Purge Protection

If you do not see any of these specific messages, your classes are not secured.
